“When you’re the strong one

The strongest of all

Who’s there to help you?

Who can you call?”

Grunt is a strong ox who might not smile much but is always there to help. If anyone in Eden Valley is in trouble, they call on Grunt to help them. He is strong and he is kind.

But one day, a huge storm passes through the valley and Grunt discovers that he is not strong enough to save his own home. As the tornado blows his house away, Grunt and his friends must run for shelter into the only building not rocked by the storm - a huge stone tower.

Along the way, Grunt carries his friends who have been hurt in the storm and together they find rest and healing in the strong tower.

When the storm is over, everyone helps Grunt rebuild his house and finds that God has answered many of their prayers for help, provision and safety, even in the storm.

This faith-inspiring, heartwarming story is based on Proverbs 18:10: “The Lord is like a strong tower. Those who do what is right can run to him for safety.”

This book will spark encouraging and thought-provoking conversations with your children about how God looks after us and answers our prayers even in difficult times.

All proceeds go towards Ruach Resources, charity number 1197062, to help create more conversation-starting, faith-inspiring resources for children and their grown-ups.

"Grunt and his friends learn to trust God in a storm. A cleverly written and charmingly illustrated story of peril, friendship and learning about the goodness and protection of God. Spiritual insight and emotional understanding are gently woven through this fabulous adventure." - Fiona Veitch Smith, author of the Young Joseph and Young David Books.

“A creative and imaginative way of exploring God's strength and the different ways he can help us.” - Anna Hawken, Parenting for Faith

“Beautifully written and brilliantly illustrated, this book manages to explain the strength of God in an imaginative and engaging way for children and families. A great addition to the Animals of Eden Valley series.” - Shell Perris, Singer, Songwriter, Author, Presenter & Director of Imagine Ministries

“In uncertain times, the adventures of the Animals of Eden Valley are the perfect way to help children understand that God is big enough and strong enough to help them face the storms of life.” - Peter Andrews, Urban Saints Resources Manager

“An eye-capturing book to engage children and grown-ups alike. Deep Biblical truths are broken down into easy-to-understand rhyming verses. Joanne has brilliantly brought an abstract concept into children’s tangible experience, by creating an endearing story featuring animal characters. I love reading these books to my children - and you’ll love reading them to yours!” - Lucy Rycroft, The Hope Filled Family Blogger and children’s author

"Joanne has done a brilliant job of articulating the strength and sovereignty of God in a way that younger children can understand and relate to. It's the perfect antidote to the fear and helplessness we all feel at times, especially in our early years. I recommend this book wholeheartedly." - Chip Kendall, singer-songwriter
